Pitchside ("we", "our", "the app") is a matchday journal for football supporters. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data.

1. Information We Collect

Account data: When you sign up, we collect your email address and a password (stored securely via Supabase Auth). You may also provide a display name, username, and profile picture.

Match logs: When you log a match, we store your ratings, moments, tags, player ratings, and noise readings. This data is associated with your account.

Device data: We may collect push notification tokens to deliver notifications. We do not collect device identifiers for advertising purposes.

Microphone data: If you use the noise meter feature, audio is processed locally on your device to calculate decibel levels. Raw audio is never uploaded or stored on our servers — only the computed noise level readings are saved.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide and maintain the app’s core features (match logging, social feed, ratings)
To display community statistics (average ratings, popular matches)
To send push notifications you’ve opted into (e.g. new followers, comments)
To improve the app based on aggregate, anonymized usage patterns

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. Your match logs and ratings may be visible to other users depending on the app’s social features (e.g. followers can see your feed). We use the following third-party services:

Supabase — database, authentication, and backend infrastructure (hosted in the EU)
API-Football — match and fixture data (no personal data is sent)
Expo / EAS — app build and update delivery

4. Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us at capakvale@gmail.com.

5. Your Rights

Under GDPR and applicable Norwegian data protection law, you have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data
Withdraw consent for data processing
Data portability — receive your data in a structured format

6. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (TLS), row-level security policies on our database, and secure token-based authentication. API keys are stored server-side and never exposed to client devices.

7. Children’s Privacy

Pitchside is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
